As Director of Acquisitions, Tom’s responsibilities include identifying and evaluating new development and investment opportunities across BBCP target markets. Tom also assists in the regular review of BBCP’s existing portfolio to mitigate risk and optimize returns.
Hailing from Australia, Tom’s real estate career began at Cedar Woods Properties (ASX: CWP), headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Tom moved to Chicago in 2014 where he spent three years at Stockbridge Capital Group, a ~$15B AUM investment management firm, focusing on institutional real estate acquisitions and asset management. Most recently, Tom worked at McWhinney, a Colorado-based development firm, where he was tasked with the asset management of its commercial portfolio, including Denver’s Union Station and Dairy Block.
Tom is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Young Leaders program. Tom is also an active volunteer with Denver Kids (formerly Denver Urban Scholars) where he mentors underprivileged youth.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Real Estate from Curtin University, Western Australia. He also completed a Certificate in Real Estate Finance and Investment at NYU.
Outside of the office Tom can be found snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking or enjoying one of Colorado’s many craft breweries.
